Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Anesthesiology - Cardiac in Marshfield, WI - JOB OVERVIEW * Profession: Physician * Specialty: Cardiac Anesthesia * Job Type: Locum Tenens * Location: Marshfield, WI * Service Setting: Inpatient * Coverage Type: Clinical + Call * Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing * Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7a – 5p * On-Call Shift Schedule: Weeknights (1-2 per week) and Weekends, 24-hour beeper call * Call Type: Beeper * Call Response Time: 20 minutes * Callback Rate: 10-20% * Reason for Coverage: Scheduling Need * Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION * Patient Demographics: Adults (cardiac and general surgery) * Average Daily Volume: 5-8 patients/day * Case Mix: Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Orthopedic, Neurosurgical, Obstetrics, Trauma FACILITY INFORMATION * EMR System: Cerner PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE * Hospital Privileges Required: Yes * Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES * Required: * General Anesthesia * Adult * Trauma * Spinal Anesthesia * Epidural Anesthesia * Regional Anesthesia Surgery * Obstetrical Cases * Neurosurgical cases (Head, Spine) * Open Heart Anesthesia * Thoracic cases (except open heart) * Complex vascular cases (except open heart) * Complex orthopedic cases * Post-op epidural * Post-op extremity blocks * Ventilation management * Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues * Central Line placement * Arterial Line placement * PA Catheter placement * Preferred: * CRNA supervision JOB REQUIREMENTS * Board: BC required (Board Eligible minimum) * Licenses: Active WI or IMLC  will accept those willing to apply * Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS * Fellowship: Preferred * Experience: Board Certified or Eligible with recent TEE experience (30-40 cases in past year) and proficiency in arterial/central line placements and regional blocks * Other Qualifications: TEE certification required (basic or advanced), cardiac trained, collegial and flexible Duties & Responsibilities * Provide cardiac anesthesia coverage including 80% structural and 20% pump cases. * Perform general anesthesia when no cardiac cases are scheduled. * Place arterial lines, central lines, and regional blocks as needed. * Manage intraoperative ventilation, acute volume/BP issues, and perform intraoperative TEE. * Take beeper call (weeknights and weekends) for cardiac anesthesia coverage.
