Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Palliative Medicine in Dothan, AL - VHS is searching for a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner for Dothan, AL! Job Description As a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, you will provide compassionate care to patients facing chronic, complex, and life-threatening conditions. Your role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families. Here are the key responsibilities: * Patient Assessment and Management: * Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. * Develop individualized care plans to address symptom management, pain control, and overall well-being. * Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations. * Order routine and diagnostic studies as needed. * Collaboration: * Work closely with a diverse team, including case workers, chaplains, and hospitalists. * Facilitate communication and coordination among team members to ensure holistic patient care. * Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. * Education and Support: * Provide disease and treatment education to patients and their families. * Offer emotional support, counseling, and guidance during difficult times. * Assist patients in making informed decisions about their care. * Hours and Compensation: * This position operates during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. * Compensation is calculated based on your experience and qualifications. Qualifications: * Advanced Practice Certification:  You must be a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) with a focus on palliative care. * State Licensure:  Hold a valid Alabama state license as an advanced practice nurse. * Experience:  Prior experience in palliative care or a related field is preferred. * Compassion and Empathy:  Demonstrate a genuine commitment to providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
